Project Manager
Location: Chatsworth, CA
Manage a portfolio of strategic projects for the major function or division. Projects involve cross-functional collaboration between centralized functions, manufacturing facilities and customer facing strategic business units: apps engineering, field service team, teach support team, legal team and others. Responsible for balancing stakeholder expectations while maintaining an objective, data-driven approach to decision making. Achieving results through others is a key element of the job. Frequent interactions with end customers (not only our agents, but also contractors, or projects owners)
Key Tasks & Responsibility
Influence others to commit time and resources to strategic projects as required, to deliver superior service to our customers and ensure a smooth interaction between client brands and the customer. End results are a highly engaged team committed to project execution and a set of metrics to measure project performance and delivery.
Provide guidance to project teams and project leaders executing strategic projects and ensuring timely delivery of projects to various customers such agents and corporate accounts. Communicate project status with senior management and key stakeholders and disseminate stakeholder expectations within project teams.
Provide communication and continuity for projects as they move from the pre-sale bidding/quoting phase, to the order/submitting phase, to field startups, and finally should it be needed, tech support/post sales interaction. Facilitate communication and resolution of issues with various teams
Track performance to stated project objectives and provide guidance to project teams when project activities deviate from stated project objectives. End result is project team alignment with stakeholder expectations and strategic company goals.
Develop and implement strategies in coordination with the regional manager as to how to improve overall project flow and implementation, taking into account regional requirements such as code and nature of market. Manage a small budget to approve certain costs associated with project/problem resolution or solution development
Explore ways of creating value and synergy between business process owners and value streams. Results in more engaged employees learning to see the entire value stream from customers to suppliers.
Prepare and communicate weekly and monthly project status reports at various staff meetings. Results in enhanced communication about ongoing projects and higher levels of engagement on project activities from functional areas.
Create metric reporting systems around value streams and functional processes providing key insight for business process owners and value streams leaders. Results in driving continuous improvement in KPI performance and functional supply chain processes. What gets measured gets done.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- 6 to 8 years plus the education listed below.
- Project Management Professional (PMP). Demonstrated leadership skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management. Strong negotiation and influencing skills. Comprehensive knowledge of project management areas of competency, procedures and methodologies. Ability to build relationships at all levels and work in a team environment.
Educational Background:
- Bachelors Degree in Project ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
