MATCOR is currently seeking a Supply Chain Specialist to report to our head of procurement. Our ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment. This position will manage our purchase orders and relationships with vendors to ensure accurate inventory and prompt service from our vendors. In addition to current vendor management, this individual will be responsible for identifying and developing new vendors for the company. An individual will be successful in this role if they have strong attention to detail, able to work collaboratively in a team, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

An expert in the field of cathodic protection, MATCOR offers proprietary corrosion protection products, installation, cathodic protection testing, maintenance and complete corrosion protection project management. MATCOR specializes in protecting the infrastructure of the oil and gas, electric utility, transportation and water industries.
The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for placement of orders and the implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and their execution for assigned commodities. Key aspects of the process will be domestic and global sourcing, standardization, improved quality performance, and reduced total cost of purchased components. The position involves cross functional interaction with sales, engineering, quality, manufacturing and finance.
+ Placing orders for assigned commodities and specific customer opportunities
+ Implements strategic sourcing programs for assigned commodities
+ Sources products domestically and globally
+ Prepares reports for management, as needed
+ Other duties as assigned
+ Execute the Procurement process for assigned commodities and special items per customer orders
+ Evaluate vendor quotes and serves to determine most desirable suppliers
+ Work with the inventory team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back ordered or missing products
+ Create requisitions from requests from local teams
+ Convert Procurement Request to Purchase Order, obtain approvals per Delegation of Authority levels before PO issuance
+ Communicate with suppliers and vendors for placing PO's, expediting of PO's, delivery issues, damages and other related discrepancies
+ Assist with reconciliation of procurement transactions and maintain supporting documentation, such as order confirmation, invoices and other receiving documents
+ Provide customer service to ensure all customers (internal and external) have all necessary and current information
+ Maintain and grow effective relationships with existing accounts; identify and secure additional accounts
+ All other duties as assigned
+ Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, materials, etc.
+ The performance of this position require exposure to the manufacturing plant; certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and shoes
+ S., Business Administration: Concentration in Supply Chain, Materials Management or similar
+ 2-4 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
+ Strong negotiation, communication and time management skills
+ Ability to work in a fast paced environment
+ Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
+ Analytical ability; proficient in using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other computer programs
+ APICS certification and CPM certification desirable

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
