Senior Engineer - Power System Planning & Energy Economics

Local Unit & Position Description
DNV GL ? Energy's Power System Planning (PSP) Group is seeking a Senior Engineer ? Power System Planning & Energy Economics. The focus of this group is to provide creative, cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation, transmission and distribution systems including ISOs/RTOs, power utilities, developers, asset owners and operators as well as investors. This position is based out of any of the following offices: Dallas, TX; Oakland, CA; Medford, MA; Mechanicsburg, PA; Chalfont, PA or Arlington, VA. Tasks May Include
Performing economic planning studies including production cost analysis, price farecasting and benefit to cost assessments
Identifying unique economic based and/or reliability based solutions in various regions such as MISO, PJM, SPP, ERCOT, CAISO and NYISO footprints
Performing NERC/FERC or regional compliance studies
Interacting with clients and managing projects during execution and closure phases
Assist with the team's research goals in development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to improve the team's performance and/or create new services
Assist in Business Development related activities
Position Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Electric Power Systems; OR
Bachelor's degree in Economics with a focus on Energy markets;
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in power system planning and Energy economic field (interships and research work will be considered)
Basic knowledge of Energy Economics and Electricity markets
Knowledge of RTO/ISO markets, Power System planning practices and Regulatory Compliance Requirements
Willingness and ability to travel, up to 10% of the time
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on Electric Power Systems; OR
Master's degree in Economics with a focus on Energy markets
3+ years of experience in transmission planning preferably in a utility, power trading, renewable energy company or consulting setting
1+ years of experience in energy production cost and basis risk analysis
Knowledge of Financial Transmission Right (FTR), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR) and similar financial hedging instruments in various energy markets
1+ years of experience in power system reliability analysis including transient stability and EMT domain analysis in a utility or consulting environment
Hands-on experience with power system analysis software packages including PROMOD IV, UPLAN, PLEXUS, PSS/E, PSLF and PSCAD/EMTDC
Working knowledge of automation scripts such as VB, VB.net and Python for development of automation modules

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
