Mechanic

Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, the Mechanic will be responsible for performing the installation of truck equipment, bodies and/or packages on commercial vehicles. This is an indoor position in a traditional manufacturing/shop setting.
Skills:
Good vision, ability to follow oral and written instruction, detail orientated, must possess and utilize necessary hand tools. Basic mechanical and welding experience.
Assemble basic equipment and products under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures
Perform all aspects of basic mechanical, electrical and welding functions
Install truck equipment, components according to the designated cycle time set by the Production Manager
Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards
Perform all necessary documentation in a timely manner
Confer with supervisor regarding quality or procedural problems
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Majority of time spent standing on hard surface with substantial amount of pushing, pulling and lifting
Ability to frequently lift objects up to 65lbs
Walk /stand/bend for prolonged periods
Ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption
Ability to communicate verbally and in written form

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
