We have an immediate opportunity for an Applied Physicist, Applied Mathematician, or Research Scientist to join our R&D team in the Greater Philadelphia area.
We develop sophisticated algorithms to control Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), both at the vehicle level and at the fleet coordination level. We are continuing to expand the type of applications these vehicles service. As a result, we are continuing to improve and expand our navigation and routing algorithms. We are looking for someone to lead this effort. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and developing new algorithms to improve the performance and extend the capabilities of AGVs and the fleet management system.
Solve challenging control theory problems
Solve challenging Automated Guided Vehicle navigation and routing problems
Solve challenging Automated Guided Vehicle modeling problems
Be the primary resource to help others within the organization solve any higher level mathematical problem
PhD in Applied Physics or Applied Mathematics or preferred; MS in Applied Physics or Applied Mathematics and 5 or more years of industry experience is acceptable
Fluency in MATLAB, with experience in building, iterating, and validating algorithms and models from scratch
Knowledge of relational databases, such as SQL
Software development skills
Ability to convey higher level mathematical concepts to non-experts
Ability to develop problem definitions, models, and constraints form informal requirements and deal with ambiguity and competing objectives
Ability to travel to debug algorithms in the field under real world conditions

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
