Racquet Sports Manager Job Description
This position contributes to TSI's success by providing excellent programming, management and sales for our squash and tennis programs in a way that supports our mission, values and guiding principles. The majority of the time will be spent elevating the member experience, leading efforts to create members for life and drive net-member gain and ancillary revenue in the club.
The Racquet Sports Manager role achieves success through embodying our core competencies (Create the TSI Environment, Build a High Performing Team, Achieve Measurable Results).
Create the TSI Environment
Models the core attributes of a successful employee with the utmost integrity, lives the mission and empowers others to do the same; focused on building meaningful relationships with members, their kids and team members.
Responsibilities include:
Modeling and promoting the Clubhouse Rules.
Adhering to all TSI policies and procedures including, but not limited to timeliness, codes of conduct, dress and timekeeping.
Partnering with club team to ensure high levels of customer service and a consistently clean club.
Growing the squash and tennis participation within and outside of the club and in the community
Achieving/exceeding program performance goals for monthly and yearly sales and revenue
Leading and organizing our signature program, tournaments, junior programs, leagues, and social events.
Manage daily administrative duties including reports, payroll, scheduling, etc
Create and distribute marketing and advertising materials
Build lasting relationships with participants that includes communication, managing requests, and resolving issues
Teaching lessons (group and individual) to adults and juniors
Complete all required daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Follow up on all established action plans and timelines
Proactively communicate with the CSM,GM if no CSM and BM/BD, as necessary, regarding any major concerns about pool operations
Build a High Performing Team
Actively facilitates self and team member development; constantly seeking new ways to build skills and competency; elevates the brand experience.
Responsibilities include:

Sourcing, recruiting and onboarding qualified team members.
Delivering relevant and effective coaching, training, feedback and performance management directly to team members.
Support GM with building and developing high performing teams focused on delivering a legendary quality member experience while creating an environment of trust, mutual respect and genuine concern for individual growth and development
Support GM to ensure club is staffed with high level talent by recruiting, training retaining and developing team of instructors as needed.
Support GM with managing day to day performance of all club team members providing timely, consistent and action oriented feedback that supports TSI's mission, value and guiding principles and delivering behavioral change for desired results,
Achieve Measurable Results
Meets and exceeds company goals and metrics surrounding employees and members; never satisfied with the status quo.
Responsibilities include:
Recognize emergencies and respond effectively, completing necessary incident/accident reports
Enforce facility policies, rules and regulations
Inspect courts on a daily schedule, insuring safety and cleanliness
Ensure all team members who work with on the courts are properly trained on operations procedure and safety routines
Required Skills and Experience: .
AED/CPR certified
Prior tennis/squash management experience preferred.
Excellent customer services skills, outgoing, motivational and friendly.
Ability to deal with pressure in meeting sales/revenue quota.
Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build relationships with members.
Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner.
Ability to multi-task and learn quickly.
Scheduling Requirements:
Due to the nature of the business, Town Sports has specific scheduling guidelines for this position.
Team Members are required to work 3 out of the last 4 days of the month, with the last day of the month being mandatory.
TSI does not authorize vacation time in the months of January or September.
This position does not have a set schedule month-to-month and is subject to changes based on the needs of the business.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
