Job Description

Primary responsibility is Make-Ready and operation of all Imaging related Converting press equipment. Additional responsibilities include basic operator maintenance and repair of all Imaging related Converting press equipment, and to assist the Imaging Support Technicians in troubleshooting/repair of non-routine problems.

Secondary responsibilities include assisting press crew with make-ready and re-webbing of press as required, however, the primary responsibilities must be accomplished prior to executing secondary responsibilities.


Make-ready all Imaging Related Converting Press Equipment

  • Obtains and Sets up all equipment in a timely manner

  • Make ready of all Ink Jet printing equipment

  • Make ready of Imager Synchronization Controller (ISC V)

  • Make ready of Registration Controller (IBIRC)

  • Make ready of Labeling equipment

Operations of Imaging related Converting Press equipment

  • Operations of Ink jet printing equipment

  • Operations of Imager Synchronization Controller (ISC V)

  • Operations of Registration Controller (IBIRC)

  • Operations of Labeling equipment

  • Understands and can interpret all applicable paperwork (P.I.S., Spec Sheet, Tape Sheets, templates)

  • Ensures equipment supplies (fluids, cleaning agents), are stocked at all times

  • Takes advantage of press downtime in order to ensure Imaging equipment operates at peak performance

Maintenance, Troubleshooting, and repair of all Ink Jet Printing and support equipment

  • Able to repair S-3500/3600 S1 & S2 print stations with little assistance

  • Able to repair the S5240 with little assistance

  • Able to perform Preventive Maintenance and software upgrades on all equipment

  • Able to use and understand Electronic test equipment such as a DVM and/or Oscilloscope

Follows all Quad Graphics safety procedures

  • Performs daily housekeeping functions

  • Maintains a work safe environment

  • Cleans spills immediately

  • Ensures guards are in place at all times

  • Ensures electrical covers are in place at all time

  • Wears proper hearing protection at all times

  • Wears proper safety shoes at all time

  • Lifts properly

  • Attends monthly ?Safety Talk? department meeting

  • Can understand HMIS labels and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Successful completion of in-house certification program

  • Degree/Certificate (or equivalent) in Electronics

  • Personal Computer Knowledge

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
